What Is Country Music Day?

Country Music Day is the opening night of WN7 FEST — a full evening dedicated to live country music, line dancing and tribute acts at Leigh Miners Welfare. Held on Friday 11 June 2027, with gates from 3:30pm and music through to 11pm, it is the more grown-up half of our two-day weekender, built around that easy, sociable feeling that only a proper country night can deliver.

This is not some hastily put-together one-off. WN7 FEST is an established, community-run festival that has earned its reputation the honest way — by putting on a weekend that people across Greater Manchester and the North West genuinely want to come back to. While Saturday is given over to the family-focused day — with its Kids Zone, fairground rides and all-day entertainment — Friday is for the grown-ups who want to dance, sing along and let their hair down. The full 2027 line-up will be announced closer to the festival, but our 2026 weekend gives you a real flavour of the quality on offer — tribute acts including Ultimate Queen, Forever Oasis, a Robbie Williams tribute, an ABBA tribute, an Ed Sheeran tribute and a Michael Jackson tribute. These are the kind of polished, crowd-pleasing performers who get a whole field singing, and the Country Music Day line-up will keep that same big-hitting energy.

Line dancing & the country atmosphere

No country night is complete without line dancing, and it takes centre stage on the Friday. Whether you have been doing it for years or have never set foot on a dance floor, the crowd is friendly and the steps are easy to pick up — before long you will be joining in without even thinking about it. Children are welcome on Friday too, and under-14 early bird tickets start from just £3. That said, with a later 11pm finish and a more grown-up tone, the Friday leans towards the adults.
