The Country Music Festival Manchester Has Been Missing

WN7 FEST Country Music Day is a full evening of live country, line dancing and tribute acts at Leigh Miners Welfare, right on Greater Manchester's doorstep. Gates open at 3:30pm on Friday 11 June 2027 — tickets from just £5.

What Is Country Music Day?

Country Music Day is the opening night of WN7 FEST — a full evening dedicated to live country music, line dancing and tribute acts at Leigh Miners Welfare. Held on Friday 11 June 2027, with gates from 3:30pm and music through to 11pm, it is the more grown-up half of our two-day weekender, built around that easy, sociable feeling that only a proper country night can deliver.

This is not some hastily put-together one-off. WN7 FEST is an established, community-run festival that has earned its reputation the honest way — by putting on a weekend that people across Greater Manchester and the North West genuinely want to come back to. In 2026 the festival sold out completely, and 2027 is shaping up to be even bigger and better. You can read the full story of how it all came together on our about page.

Think of Friday as the warm-up that stands proudly on its own two feet. While Saturday is given over to the family-focused day — with its Kids Zone, fairground rides and all-day entertainment — Friday is for the grown-ups who want to dance, sing along and let their hair down. You can come for one night, or grab a Weekend Pass and do the lot.

Filling A Gap In The North West

Here is the honest truth: for all its love of live music, the North West has surprisingly few dedicated country music festivals. There is no shortage of pop, rock and indie events within easy reach of Manchester, but if you fancy a proper country and western night — line dancing, big sing-along anthems and a relaxed, friendly crowd — the options thin out fast. That is exactly the gap WN7 FEST set out to fill.

And the appetite is absolutely there. Country and Americana have quietly become some of the fastest-growing sounds in the country, and the region's line-dancing clubs and country nights are busier than ever. People want somewhere to bring that energy together on a bigger stage, under the open sky, with a drink in hand and friends around them. Country Music Day gives the North West a festival night of its own — a proper country music event near Manchester that does not ask you to trek halfway across the country to find it.

Because it sits inside an established, sold-out family festival, it comes with all the things the one-night pop-ups tend to lack: a well-run site, a packed street food village, proper bars, a VIP option and a warm community feel. It is the best of both worlds — the spirit of a dedicated country night with the polish of a festival that knows what it is doing. Have a look at our line-up page to see how it all comes together.

What To Expect On The Night

Country Music Day is all about atmosphere — a full evening of live music, dancing and good company at Leigh Miners Welfare. Here is what is in store once those gates swing open at 3:30pm.

Live tribute acts

The main stage is the beating heart of the evening. The full 2027 line-up will be announced closer to the festival, but our 2026 weekend gives you a real flavour of the quality on offer — tribute acts including Ultimate Queen, Forever Oasis, a Robbie Williams tribute, an ABBA tribute, an Ed Sheeran tribute and a Michael Jackson tribute. These are the kind of polished, crowd-pleasing performers who get a whole field singing, and the Country Music Day line-up will keep that same big-hitting energy.

Line dancing & the country atmosphere

No country night is complete without line dancing, and it takes centre stage on the Friday. Whether you have been doing it for years or have never set foot on a dance floor, the crowd is friendly and the steps are easy to pick up — before long you will be joining in without even thinking about it. It is that shared, sociable spirit that sets Country Music Day apart: less standing and watching, more singing, dancing and making memories with the people around you.

The street food village

An evening of dancing works up an appetite, and our street food village has it covered. Expect stone-baked pizza, low-and-slow smokehouse BBQ, burgers, sweet treats and plenty more besides — everything you need to refuel between sets. With bars on site too, you can settle in for the whole evening without ever leaving the field.

The VIP experience

If you want to make a real night of it, VIP tickets give you access to the exclusive VIP bar and VIP toilet facilities — shorter queues and your own space to enjoy across a full evening. It is a small upgrade that makes a big difference. For the complete picture of times, tickets, food and accessibility, our info & FAQ page has everything you need to plan your night.

Who Country Music Day Is For

Friday night at WN7 FEST is the more adult-oriented evening, and it is made for anyone who loves live music and a good atmosphere. Country fans and line dancers will feel right at home, of course — but you do not have to own a single cowboy hat to have a brilliant time. It is just as much a night for groups of friends, couples and anyone who simply enjoys a great live show under the open sky.

It is the perfect night out for a group celebration, a birthday or a get-together — easy to organise, affordable, and close to home wherever you are in Greater Manchester. Couples will love the relaxed, sociable feel, and there is no pressure to do anything other than enjoy yourselves at your own pace.

Children are welcome on Friday too, and under-14 early bird tickets start from just £3. That said, with a later 11pm finish and a more grown-up tone, the Friday leans towards the adults. If you are planning a day built around the kids, our Family Festival on Saturday — with its dedicated Kids Zone, fairground rides and earlier hours — is the one to choose. Many families do both: a relaxed adult night on Friday, then a full family day out on Saturday.

Easy To Reach From Across Greater Manchester

Country Music Day is held at Leigh Miners Welfare, Kirby Road (off Twist Lane), Leigh, WN7 4EF — right in the heart of Leigh in Greater Manchester. This is no remote field in the middle of nowhere; it is a well-connected community venue with the town on its doorstep, which makes it one of the most convenient country music events in the North West to get to.

From Manchester it is a straightforward drive out west, and the site is just as easy to reach from Wigan, Bolton, Warrington and St Helens. That central position is exactly why people from all over the region make WN7 FEST their night out. Regular bus services run into Leigh town centre and taxis are available locally, so with the bars on site you can leave the car at home and make a proper evening of it.

Country Music Day Questions, Answered

Planning your Friday night out? Here are the questions we get asked most. For anything else, the full info & FAQ page covers tickets, times, food, accessibility and more.

What time does Country Music Day start?

Gates open at 3:30pm on Friday 11 June 2027 and the music runs right through to 11pm. That gives you the whole evening to settle in with a drink, find your spot near the stage and enjoy a proper night of live country. We would suggest arriving early to make the most of the bar and the street food village before the headline sets get going.

Which acts are playing?

The full 2027 line-up is still being confirmed and will be announced in the run-up to the festival. To give you a flavour, our 2026 weekend featured tribute acts including Ultimate Queen, Forever Oasis, a Robbie Williams tribute, an ABBA tribute, an Ed Sheeran tribute and a Michael Jackson tribute. Keep an eye on our line-up page for the latest names as they are revealed.

Is there line dancing?

Yes. Line dancing is right at the heart of Country Music Day. Whether you are a seasoned dancer or have never tried it before, this is the night to give it a go — the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and you will soon find yourself joining in. It is one of the things that makes the Friday evening feel so different from anything else on in the North West.

Can I bring kids on Friday?

Children are welcome on both days, and early bird tickets for under-14s start from just £3. That said, Friday's Country Music Day is the more grown-up, adult-oriented evening, with a later finish at 11pm. If you are coming specifically for the kids, Saturday's Family Festival — with its dedicated Kids Zone, fairground rides and earlier hours — is the day built around them.

Is there VIP?

Yes. VIP tickets are available for Country Music Day and give you access to the exclusive VIP bar and VIP toilet facilities. It is a small upgrade that makes a real difference across a full evening — shorter queues at the bar and your own facilities mean more time enjoying the music and less time waiting around.

How much are tickets?

WN7 FEST is deliberately affordable. Early bird tickets start from just £3 for under-14s, with adult tickets at £12.50 and a Family ticket — covering two adults and two children — at £22.50. A booking fee of 2.5% + 30p applies online. As the 2026 festival sold out completely, booking your early bird tickets in advance is the smart move.
